What Personal Data is Processed and Why?

We process the following personal data you have provided:

  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Region
  • Consent to process personal data
  • Willingness to participate in campaign work

We use this data for communications and campaign and marketing activities conducted by MEP Pekka Toveri’s office.

The personal data we process is collected directly from you and processed based on your consent. However, data of parliamentary visitors is processed based on our legitimate interest (managing travel and security arrangements).

Who Processes Your Data and Is It Transferred Outside the EU or EEA?

Your personal data is primarily processed by Pekka Toveri and his assistants. Additionally, individuals managing this website may process personal data.

For sending newsletters, we use the MailChimp service based in the United States. Additionally, your personal data can be managed in Microsoft O365 and Google Workspace services. Data transfers from the EU to the United States are permitted under MailChimp’s, Google’s, and Microsoft’s adherence to EU data transfer agreements. Information related to European Parliament visits is provided to the European Parliament, which processes personal data in accordance with its own privacy policies.

How Long Is Personal Data Retained?

Your personal data is retained until you withdraw your consent for its processing. Once consent is withdrawn, the data will be deleted as soon as possible, but no later than one month after the withdrawal request. Additional information about parliamentary visitors is deleted when no longer needed, and in any case, no later than three years after the visit.

What Are Your Rights?

You may request the following at any time:

  • Confirmation of whether your personal data is being processed, and a copy of the data
  • Correction of any inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction of the processing of your personal data
